Comelec launches mobile app for voter registration

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has released its voter registration mobile application. According to COMELEC, the Mobile Registration Form App can be used on any Android smartphone, even when it is not connected to the Internet.

Commissioner Marlon Casquejo remarked, “The debut of the mobile app is quite timely in light of the mobility limits imposed by COVID-19 because you will only need a smartphone to complete the form.”

The app is available for download on the Internet. It’s available for Android and may be shared offline with SHAREit or any other file-sharing app. Furthermore, individuals can apply for voter registration without using the Internet once the software is installed.

“This will save time, effort, and money that would otherwise be spent traveling to a computer shop to download and print the form, or acquiring the form from the local COMELEC and manually filling it out,” Casquejo explained.

The mobile app was pushed out in limited experimental locations beginning in June. It is presently in use in over 500 cities and municipalities across the country, including the National Capital Region, Cebu City, and Davao City.

Please take a look at the steps below to see how it’s done.

  1. Open the mobile app, and tap “Get Started.”
  2. Select the desired type of application, and tap “Proceed.”
  3. Input all the necessary personal information.
  4. Confirm your personal information by ticking the checkbox.
  5. Tap “Generate QR Code” and “Save” to save it in the phone’s gallery.
  6. Bring a valid ID upon visiting your local COMELEC office for QR code scanning.

Commissioner Casquejo further stated that the Mobile Registration Form App had received more than 11,000 applications and 16,000 downloads.

You can contact the Voter Care Center hotlines on mobile (+63927559926), Facebook, and Twitter if you have any problems, questions, or clarifications about the app.
