Instagram confirms testing of the repost feature

Instagram is testing the repost feature, which is already available on Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok.

It was discovered on Twitter CEO Adam Mosseri’s profile by social media consultant Matt Navarra and later confirmed by TechCrunch.

“We’re looking into the ability to reshare posts in Feed, similar to how you can reshare in Stories, so people can share what resonated with them and original creators can be credited for their work,” a Meta spokesperson said.

Instagram has been working on this feature for a few months, as app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi discovered it in its early stages back in May.

According to Paluzzi’s screenshots, the repost option will be available in the share menu.
