Spotify will use artificial intelligence to translate podcasts into your language

Spotify is using AI to make podcasts more accessible for everyone. Not all podcasts are in English, some are in different languages. If you don’t know English or the language they’re speaking, it can be difficult to understand what they’re saying. With AI, Spotify can now translate podcasts into your language.

The company said on its website that it will use OpenAI’s new voice generation tech to turn podcasts into different languages. The voice won’t sound boring or dull. According to Spotify, the AI voice will imitate the way the original speaker talks, which will result in a more genuine listening experience.

Ziad Sultan, VP of Personalization, explains that Voice Translation allows people from all over the world to connect with and be inspired by new podcasters by accurately capturing the creator’s unique voice. We think that using AI in a careful way can help make stronger connections between people who listen to music and the people who make it. This is an important part of Spotify’s goal to encourage human creativity.

Spotify announced that voice-translated episodes from pilot creators will be accessible to all users, both Premium and Free, around the world. Some of these are already here now. The first release of the feature will allow you to translate from English to Spanish. But the company will soon translate the content into French and German. We don’t have any information about other languages yet, but it’s possible that they are being developed too.

Although there are currently only a few translated podcasts available, we are excited to see it become more widely available in the future. Imagine being able to listen to Japanese podcasts that have been translated into English, or the other way around, where Japanese audiences can listen to podcasts translated into their language. There are endless possibilities.
