Google announces Pixel Buds Pro with active noise cancellation

Google has announced the Pixel Buds Pro, which are intended to compete directly with Apple’s AirPods Pro. Active noise reduction, a transparency mode, multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, and an IPX4 water resistant rating are all included in the Pixel Buds Pro.

The Pixel Buds Pro, according to Google, can last up to seven hours of continuous use with active noise cancellation and up to 11 hours when switched off.

The earbuds and case seem very similar to the 2020 Pixel Buds, but the Pixel Buds Pro features additional microphone inlets around its perimeter, which are designed to nestle deeper in the user’s ear canal.

The earbuds contain “sensors” that “monitor the pressure in your ear canal so the earphones can actively relieve it and stay comfy,” according to Google.

The ‘Silent Seal’ software algorithms, according to Google, can “adapt to your ear, optimizing the amount of noise that’s canceled.” The ear tips for the Pixel Buds Pro will come in three sizes out of the box, as they should.

The Pixel Buds Pro, like the AirPods Pro, have ‘intelligent’ audio switching that automatically switches between the user’s most frequently used Android devices without the need to enter any Bluetooth settings menus.

The Pixel Buds Pro earphones will be available in black, blue, green, or red, and will be available for USD 199 starting July 21st for pre-orders and a week later in shops alongside the Pixel 6a mid-tier smartphone.

There was no mention of it being available in other markets.
