Before election day, registered voters can check their actual polling precincts.
For the first time since 2016, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) made the Precinct Finder available to the public on Friday.
Filipinos can now check the specifics of their voter registration records at https://voterverifier.comelec.gov.ph/voter_precinct
Voters are asked to provide information such as whether they are local or foreign voters, their first, middle, and last names, and their registration location (province, city/municipality).
GUIDE:
Step 1: Go to this website: https://voterverifier.comelec.gov.ph/voter_precinct , then click continue
Step 2: Choose between Local (Philippines) or Overseas
Step 3: Fill up the required information such as First Name, Middle Name, Last Name and Place of Registration
Step 4: Verify the Google Recaptcha, then click Search
Step 5: Click ‘Proceed
Step 6: Then Done! You can now see what your Precinct No. and your Voter Status.
The Comelec has teamed up with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to host the former’s multiple online systems, including the Precinct Finder, that are critical to the next elections.
Among other things, the polling body’s website was defaced in 2016. Some features, such as the Precinct Finder, Video Demonstrations, and the Search function, were affected.
Meanwhile, Comelec Commissioner George Garcia stated that the preparations for the May 9 elections are on track.
“We can honestly tell you… we are, not yet 100 percent maybe 90 to 95 percent, but we are on track, on time,” he said in a press briefing Friday.
“Teachers have been trained, polling places are ready. We already distributed election material to the regional hubs, and we have started the delivery of official ballots to the Treasurer’s Office,” the poll body official noted.
