YouTube Vanced is forced to shut down by Google for 'legal reasons'

Due to legal issues, the Vanced YouTube software, an Android program that plays YouTube videos and can eliminate all advertising without a premium subscription, is being shut down.

Vanced stated they’re closing down after receiving a cease and desist letter from Google, which required them to stop distributing and developing the app. According to a Vanced admin, they were also instructed to erase all references to ‘YouTube,’ replace the logo, and remove all connections relating to YouTube products.

The current Vanced YouTube app version will continue to function, but it will become obsolete in around two years.

Users should then subscribe to YouTube’s Premium services, according to Vanced.
