GCash, a mobile wallet, has launched a new feature called ‘GGives.’ This allows qualified consumers to pay for things worth up to PHP 30,000 in 24 installments or twice-monthly ‘gives’ over a year.

“GCash’s new lending capabilities, such as GGives and GLoan, are designed specifically for Filipinos’ buying habits, such as installment payments and hulugan. In a press statement, GCash President and CEO Martha Sazon stated, “This allows people to have enough freedom to maximize their money while still getting to enjoy what they want and need.”
Here are some quick facts regarding GGives:

Users with a higher GScore on the GCash app will be eligible for GGives, however the exact number has not been revealed.
GGives can be activated through the GCash app by qualified users. Select GGives from the “see all services” menu. Then, on GGives, double-check and finish your information, and if approved, you’re ready to use the service.
Another GCash financial service is ‘GLoan,’ which allows qualifying users to borrow up to PHP 25,000 for a variety of uses. The funds are sent to their GCash wallet in the form of actual currency, with repayment options ranging from nine to twelve months for eligible consumers.
“With GGives and GLoan, Filipinos now have access to safe and efficient credit services that offer fair and transparent interest rates to help them cope with these challenging times,” Sazon added.
Eligible users can get GGives in over 27,000 stores by scanning a QR code, with additional branches and options coming soon. Customers can shop at Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, The SM Store, Ministop, S&R Supermarket, Nike, Mercury Drug, Southstar Drug, Power Mac Center, MemoXpress, Datablitz, and other stores using the GCash app.
Aside from the new function, GCash also offers GSave, an online savings bank; GInvest, an easy investment feature; GInsure, a medical emergency insurance feature; and GLife, an e-commerce feature.
