Xiaomi introduces the Redmi Watch 2

In China, Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi Watch 2, the latest edition to its Redmi wristwatch range.

The Redmi Watch 2 has a larger 1.6-inch screen than its predecessor and an update from IPS to AMOLED with a maximum resolution of 320 x 360px. It also offers a longer battery life, lasting up to 12 days on a single charge.

The chipset features an Apollo 3.5 CPU capable of supporting up to 117 different athletic modes. It also has a new blood-oxygen (SpO2) sensor and better sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring. It has a water resistance rating of 5ATM with a 50m range.

This smartwatch supports up to four global positioning systems to provide a wider range of outdoor athletic modes (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou). It has Bluetooth 5.2 and a new NFC capability for communication.

The new Redmi smartwatch comes in three hues for the watch body and six replaceable TPU strap options. Despite having a larger display than its predecessor, it is lighter at 31g.

The Redmi Watch 2 costs CNY 400 in China. It is presently available for pre-order in China and will be released on November 11.
