Globe won all of the coveted categories in Opensignal’s 5G Global Impact awards for this year, further cementing its position as the Philippines’ 5G pioneer.

When users connect to 5G technology instead of 4G technology, the improvement or “uplift” in mobile experience is measured. The award honors the top 30 operators who improved the most in the categories of download speed, upload speed, games experience, and video experience.
Globe leads the Games Experience category in Opensignal’s latest report[1] released this month, with a whopping 65.2 percent improvement over the global average, while the global average is only 8.2 percent.
Globe is ranked second in the world for Video Experience, with users reporting a 32.8 percent better streaming experience with 5G compared to 4G. In the meantime, the global average for the category is 8.8%.
Globe is one of the top ten mobile operators in the world for download speed, with a difference of 774.4 percent between 4G and 5G. According to the report, users on Globe’s network saw a 200.7 percent increase in Upload Speed when switching to 5G from 4G.
“The awards are exciting news, and they demonstrate that Globe is on track with its 5G rollout strategy in the country. These victories continue to motivate us to provide our customers with the best 5G experience possible. Even as more customers gradually adopt this new technology, we will continue to expand our 5G network in areas where it is most needed,” said Ernest Cu, President and CEO of Globe.
