Globe has announced significant network quality improvements across the country in order to provide a better user experience for its customers. Globe has enabled its customers to see marked improvements and lower latency in their overall experience on the Globe network by using Facebook Connectivity analytics tools to identify network performance issues and prioritize network investments.

In comparison to the third quarter of 2020, overall 4G download speeds on Globe’s nationwide network increased by 25%. Download speeds increased by 25% in Davao and Central Visayas, and by 6% in the Caraga Administrative Region, which includes Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and the Dinagat Islands. The overall download speed in Mindanao increased by 5%. Globe intends to duplicate its efforts in other parts of the country, where it is expanding and upgrading its network.
“Thanks to our partnership with Facebook Connectivity, we’ve been able to make significant network improvements for our customers. Our customer experience has improved and is now comparable to that of global top-tier telcos. We’ll keep working together to find ways to improve connectivity, particularly as Globe deploys 5G technology across the Philippines,” said Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group.
Globe has set aside an unprecedented P76 billion in capital expenditures this year as part of its commitment to provide fast, reliable, and high-quality internet connectivity in the country. The construction of data networks will consume the majority of the total budget.
