Globe secures 1,451 permits in the first half of 2021

In the first half of the year, Globe obtained 1,451 permits from local government units across the country.

Globe was able to accelerate construction in more underserved areas thanks to the government’s Bayanihan 2 law. “Obtaining these permits has always been a challenge in the past, but with more LGUs now realizing what connectivity can do to improve their services to their constituents and the national government’s call to simplify the permitting process further, we have secured more permits now than in previous years.” These permits will enable us to provide better services to more customers who rely on solid connectivity to meet their day-to-day needs,” said Joel Agustin, SVP of Program Delivery Network Technical Group at Globe.

Globe obtained 395 permits in Northern Luzon, while Visayas and Metro Manila (including Rizal) LGUs issued 314 and 312 permits, respectively.

The top five provinces with the most permits were Metro Manila, Cebu, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, and Bulacan, while 14 others issued at least 20 permits or more.

When it comes to cities or towns, Makati City issued the most permits (67), followed by Davao City (55) and Quezon City (53). 22 other cities and municipalities issued ten or more permits.

“With these permits, we will be able to maintain the momentum of installing more cell towers in strategic locations throughout the provinces. The new installations will also help to decongest our network, which will improve the call, SMS, and data browsing services we provide to our customers,” Agustin added.
