Telegram is introducing group video calls as well as animated backgrounds

Telegram has released a new update that includes group video calls, animated backdrops, message animations, and other features.

The update allows users to turn on their camera or share their screen on all devices, including tablets and PCs, during group voice calls. By pressing the camera icon to turn on the video, voice discussions in any group can now change into group video calls.

You can also share your screen, in addition to your camera stream, or both at the same time.

While there is no restriction for audio-only participants, the video is currently only available to the first 30 persons that join the voice chat. However, Telegram claims that the limit will be raised soon.

Furthermore, noise suppression in voice chats has been improved by the platform. In the settings, they’ve also introduced an option to turn off noise suppression.

Tablets and desktops have more excellent storage and display possibilities than smartphones. Users can get a split-screen view of the video grid and the participant list designed for portrait and landscape orientation.

Voice chats on the desktop, meanwhile, open in a different window. Selective screen sharing is also available in desktop apps, allowing users to broadcast a certain program rather than your entire screen.

Telegram, on the other hand, provides animated chat backdrops. It includes algorithmically created multi-color gradient wallpapers. Users can also make their animated backgrounds by selecting three or four colors to activate the animation and adding a pattern for added style.

Message sending animations, new app icons, login info reminders, a bot menu, and new animated emojis are among the other new features.
