Microsoft has officially announced the release of Windows 11, the latest version of its operating system.

According to Microsoft, the design and user experience for productivity and creativity have been simplified. Upgrades have been made to the Start button, taskbar, icons, typography, and system noises. To make it easier to access, the start button has been moved to the center of your taskbar. Furthermore, start makes advantage of the cloud and Microsoft 365 to display current files regardless of the platform or device the user is using, including Android and iOS devices.

Snap Layouts, Snap Groups, and Desktops are new Windows 11 that will make multitasking easier. According to Microsoft, these new tools are intended to assist users in managing their windows and optimizing screen real estate to accommodate a variety of user layout preferences. It also has a unique function that allows you to create several desktops for different tasks, including work, education, and gaming.

Windows 11 will incorporate Microsoft Teams Chat into the taskbar, allowing users to communicate with their connections instantaneously via text, chat, audio, or video, regardless of platform or device. Furthermore, Teams in Windows 11 enable more natural methods to engage with friends and family.

Microsoft, DirectX 12 Ultimate, DirectStorage, and Auto HDR will be included in Windows 11 to improve the user’s gaming experience. The upgrade will contain widgets, a new tailored feed powered by AI, and improved browser performance from Microsoft Edge. Users can now curate their view right from their desktop, with a personalized feed sliding across the screen. Widgets will also provide new real estate within Windows for artists and publishers to deliver customized content.

The Microsoft Store has also been upgraded, with new apps and improved search capabilities. Microsoft will soon welcome third-party apps that have been vetted for security and system safety, such as Microsoft Teams, Visual Studio, Disney+, Adobe Creative Cloud, Zoom, and Canva.

For the first time, Android apps will be available on Windows. According to Microsoft, users will be able to find Android apps in the Microsoft store and download them through the Amazon Appstore starting later this year. More on this will be covered shortly.
Additionally, Microsoft Store will give creators and developers a better opportunity to enable ISVs to bring their apps to the Microsoft Store, regardless of whether they’re built-in Win32, Progressive Web App (PWA), Universal Windows App (UWP), or any other app framework. Developers will be able to bring their commerce into Microsoft’s Store and keep 100% of the revenue, thanks to a progressive change to Microsoft’s revenue split regulations. According to Microsoft, updating to Windows 11 is the same as updating to Windows 10. App Assure, a program that assists clients with 150 or more fixes for any app issue at no additional cost, will ensure that consumers’ apps from Windows 10 will be compatible with the upcoming Windows 11. Security is also not a concern, as Windows 11 includes a Zero Trust operating system that secures data and access between devices. Microsoft guarantees that most PCs, including those from Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Surface, and other manufacturers, will be ready for Windows 11. With Windows 11, Microsoft has improved the touch experience on tablets by including larger touch targets, subtle visual clues, extra motions, and haptics for the user’s pen. Finally, voice typing improvements were added because Windows 11 can identify what the user is trying to say, including punctuation.
For qualified Windows 10 PCs and new PCs, Windows 11 will be available as a free update.
