Twitter is rumored to be launching a premium subscription service known as ‘Twitter Blue.’ The social networking platform itself has now confirmed it via its iOS App Store app page. In the United States, Twitter Blue will cost $2.29 per month.

According to Mashable, it’s been more than a week since app analyst and reverse engineering ace Jane Manchun Wong disclosed that Twitter is working on a subscription service with a premium set of features.
Now, Twitter Blue is available for iOS, and it costs exactly what Wong predicted it would.
The App Store listing for the Twitter app now includes a new in-app purchase, confirming the presence of the subscription service. However, the listing doesn’t go into detail about ‘Blue’ just yet.
There are several new features available through the premium subscription. To begin, Wong disclosed in a tweet that Twitter Blue comes with various color palettes and custom icons to choose from.
Switching to a different color, as you might expect, changes the app’s accent color to yellow, orange, red, or green, with purple being the default. Purple, pink, green, black, orange, blue, and another icon with blue and purple streaks are also available as custom icons.
It will also include a few extra features, like the ability to undo tweets. There’s also a feature called ‘Reader Mode,’ which acts as a thread unfurled for those long tweetstorms. However, this function isn’t available just yet, and it may be made available to consumers in the future.
Twitter Blue will also provide paying users access to additional premium features, such as improved bookmark management tools and a “undo” button that allows users to go back in time and remember tweets.
Some of the reported possibilities were mentioned in a Twitter poll taken in the summer of 2020, which asked users which app features they’d be prepared to pay for.
Wong previously stated that the Twitter team is considering more than one paid tier. There will also be more layers, with higher levels providing additional functionality.
