Introducing Slack AI, which brings user-centric changes inspired by cutting-edge generative AI tools.

Slack has made efforts to enhance the search functionality for locating past messages and documents, as mentioned in a recent blog post. The AI update offers users the convenience of having citations to relevant messages, drawing from your company’s public communications and personal conversations.
Slack has had a rather complicated way of searching for old messages. Slack AI is designed to assist users who may struggle to come up with precise terms for their search queries by providing intelligent suggestions.
In addition to resolving the search bar issues, the latest updates offer users the ability to condense lengthy discussions and review channel highlights. This change is perfect for professionals who need to get back to work after taking time off.
Slack has mentioned that their latest AI features can be accessed by subscribing to their paid add-on, which is exclusively available for Enterprise plans. They mentioned that additional plans will be available in the near future, but did not provide details about the cost of their services.
This move by the company is quite impressive, considering that other companies have also presented their own AI-focused tools this year.
Currently, Microsoft offers Copilot Pro, an AI assistant developed in collaboration with OpenAI. Next up is Grok from Elon Musk, showcasing his platform X. And recently, Google rebranded Gemini with their new AI model.
Let’s not overlook OpenAI’s ChatGPT, as this year seems to be focused on advancements in generative AI.
