Huawei appears to be intending to remove Android app support from its devices in the next HarmonyOS.

Since 2019, the United States has prohibited Huawei in their country, resulting in Google apps not functioning on their devices. The upcoming HarmonyOS update, HarmonyOS Next, will not be compatible with Android apps.
Huawei recently announced HarmonyOS Next, their upcoming operating system, during the Huawei Developers Conference 2023. It is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2024.
The HarmonyOS Next will only work with its own HAP installation package instead of the Android Package or APK created by Android.
This means users might not find their usual apps on the Huawei AppGallery because companies will create apps for HarmonyOS Next instead.
It’s still being determined if this will impact users in other countries.
