Globe’s 5G network coverage has been expanded to 212 sites in Visayas and 25 sites in Mindanao, for a total of 237 additional 5G sites.

5G will now be accessible in Davao City, Cebu, Iloilo City, Zamboanga City, Cagayan de Oro City, Boracay, and Bacolod City.
The network completed the expansion by the end of the third quarter of 2022 in an effort to give more consumers and companies with enhanced connection and better data speeds.
Globe activated 380 new 5G sites in the first quarter of 2022 to enhance outdoor and in-building solutions in Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Bulacan, Davao, Cebu, Misamis Oriental, and Iloilo.
The spread of 5G technology in Visayas and Mindanao aims to reduce the digital divide between these regions and the rest of the nation. It also intends to promote economic growth and the establishment of new industries and businesses in the aforementioned regions.
“We believe the expansion of 5G technology in Visayas and Mindanao is essential for driving economic growth, fostering innovation, and providing residents and businesses in these regions with access to fast and reliable digital services,” said Joel Agustin, Globe’s senior vice president for network planning and engineering.
Globe claims that 5G technology can provide internet rates up to one hundred times faster than 4G. Additionally, it has minimal latency, making it appropriate for video streaming and gaming.
