Elon Musk recently tweeted that the labels “Twitter for iPhone” and “Twitter for Android” are a “waste of screen space,” and that no one knows why the company did it.

Tech Marques Brownlee, a YouTuber, replied to the thread, saying it was “for the memes, of course,” and attaching a photo of Gal Gadot promoting an Android device, but it was posted via Twitter for iPhone.
Removing the labels will likely reduce such mishandling of promotions via tweet and should benefit businesses by preventing them from becoming an instant laughingstock for memes.
Musk did not specify a timeline for when the labels would be removed, but they are still present as of this writing.
Furthermore, Musk claims that Twitter will disable’microservices’ bloatware because the platform only requires 20% of it to function. Previously, this rendered some users unable to access their accounts because one of the microservices that sends users two-factor authentication was apparently turned off.
Twitter has already undergone numerous changes since Elon Musk completed his USD 44 billion buyout of the social media platform. This includes a new Verified badge subscription under Twitter Blue for USD 8/month, as well as an additional ‘Official’ verified tag under the handles of verified Twitter accounts.
However, due to a fake Nintendo account with a verified badge via Twitter Blue who tweeted an image of Super Mario flashing the middle-finger salute, and several other accounts impersonating companies and personalities who post misleading tweets, the Blue Verified feature will relaunch on November 29.
As a result, a number of companies, including Volkswagen, Audi, and General Motors, have suspended their Twitter advertisements.
Musk tweets that changing your’verified name’ will result in you losing the verified badge until Twitter confirms the new name.
