Maya, GCash are now able to scan each other's QR Ph codes

Maya has stated that it can now scan GCash QR codes and vice versa if QR Ph is used.

QR Ph was created to use an interoperable common QR code that can be read and understood by any participating bank or non-bank e-money institution (EMI) to help clients with fund transfer and payment requests. QR Ph can now be used for digital person-to-person (P2P) transfers and person-to-merchant (P2M) payments via InstaPay.

With this new standard, a GCash customer can now scan a Maya QR code at a store, and a Maya customer can scan a GCash QR code in a store. This service is provided free of charge to officially registered merchants who use the QRPH “Person to Merchant” standard.
