Globe launches Climate Champions mobile game to promote climate action

Globe has launched Climate Champions, a new mobile game designed to inspire the company’s millions of consumers to adopt sustainable choices in their consumption of goods and services.

Globe Climate Champions is a mobile running game that teaches Filipinos how to lessen their carbon footprint in their daily activities. It challenges players to race to the finish line in the lowest amount of time possible, with the opportunity to gain speed boosts by picking up trash along the way.

Players can cut their run time even lower if they choose eco-friendly options at the end of each round’s lifestyle questionnaire. They will also discover trivia about environmental stewardship. As more rounds are completed, various awards will be unlocked, encouraging consumers to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle by converting to digital commerce.

Globe’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), specifically SDG 13 on Climate Action, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Principles, the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) Business Ambition for 1.5°C, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Race to Zero campaign is reflected in the launch of Climate Champions. The Globe Group is also a pioneer in the Race to Zero initiative, which drives its Net Zero goals.

“Responding to the risks and effects of climate change is a shared responsibility. This game aims to raise awareness on what actions contribute to caring for the environment,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.

The New GlobeOne, GCash, and KonsultaMD applications provide access to the new Globe Climate Champions mobile game. June Mar Fajardo and Kuya Kim Atienza of Team Globe of Good are among the first advocates to invite the public to play the Globe Climate Champions smartphone game.
