Following Marcos’ first State of the Nation Address, PLDT, DITO Telecommunity, and Converge each released a statement on their own.

No citizen will be left behind, according to Marcos, and universal connectivity will be essential.
President and CEO of PLDT and Smart Alfredo S. Panlilio reaffirmed the company’s dedication to providing better services to its clients and its ongoing efforts to broaden its network throughout the Philippines.
We support the government’s thrust to connect our countrymen and make sure that no Filipino is left behind as the world becomes more digital. Our continuous network investments are proof of this long-standing commitment to provide more Filipinos access to fast, reliable and affordable internet, enabling them to participate in the ever-growing digital economy, wherever they may be in the country, Panlilio said.
He continued by saying that the Pangilinan-led group is “prepared” to support the new administration’s attempts to digitize government operations.
Despite being a new participant, DITO also stated that it fully concurs with Marcos’ goals.
The telecom has been “aggressively expanding” its digital infrastructure, according to DITO Chief Administrative Officer Adel Tamano, in order to fulfill its commitments to offer high-speed internet to every Filipino.
We promise to deliver to the new administration’s goal of ensuring every Filipino thrives as the digital world grows, especially highlighted during the pandemic, Tamano said.
Converge ICT Solutions Inc., on the other hand, expressed its “pleasure” with Marcos’ decision to promote universal connection, particularly in light of the COVID pandemic’s pressure on all industries to adopt digital solutions.
We have ensured that we have the correct infrastructure in place and built our own domestic backbone and network so that world-class, resilient, and high-speed pure fiber connectivity is ready for service to Filipinos nationwide. With this digital infrastructure, we are more than ready to assist the government in the efforts to achieve universal connectivity, said Dennis Anthony Uy, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge ICT Solutions.
