Globe has announced that it will soon launch fiber-to-the-room (FTTR) technology, making it one of the first Southeast Asian telecommunications providers to do so.

According to Globe, FTTR can offer “extremely fast and ultra seamless WiFi connections with exceptionally low latency.” The speed and coverage are ten times that of a traditional WiFi network, and it can handle up to 128 device connections.
The technology’s goal is to create an all-optical foundation for whole-home WiFi. It provides gigabit WiFi 6 coverage and extends fiber to every room.
It will also assist Globe At Home customers in maximizing WiFi signals and avoiding dead spots in large spaces, houses, and buildings with thick multiple concrete walls and floors and an excessive number of connected devices.
This is one of the innovations available as part of Globe’s push for built-in broadband in housing developments, in collaboration with several of the country’s major builders and real estate developers to increase the adoption of ready connectivity.
More information about FTTR will be released soon.
