ShopeePay now imposes a 1% cash-in fee on all e-wallet transactions

On June 2nd, the popular online shopping site Shopee instituted a 1% admin fee for cash-ins using e-Wallets such as GCash, Maya, and coins.ph.

Shopeepay Cash In Fee

This means that a cash-in fee of 5 pesos will be withheld from a transfer of 500 pesos. Another example: 10 pesos cost for a transfer of 1,000 pesos, etc. The cost is proportional to the amount the user wishes to pay out.

Users can still get free cash-ins through their linked bank accounts, which include Shopee’s verified banking partners BDO, Metrobank, and Chinabank, as well as through banking applications with InstaPay, notwithstanding the deployment.

To avoid the cash-in fee when utilizing connected bank accounts, hit the ‘ShopeePay Balance’ icon on the homepage, then tap ‘Cash In’ and select a bank partner before following the remaining instructions.
