Meralco has stated that it is willing to contract power from generators, including the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP), if it becomes operational.

Meralco President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Espinosa said in a GMA News Online article that the company will positively consider contracting appropriately and competitively priced supplies from generation companies, including the BNPP, if it becomes operational.
During the campaign, President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stated that he wanted the Philippines to have at least one nuclear power plant to create inexpensive energy and cut electricity bills.
President Duterte signed an Executive Order in March establishing the National Position for a Nuclear Energy Program, allowing the Philippines to use nuclear power as a viable power source alongside other renewable energy sources.
