Tata Group to release “Super App” TataNeu on April 7

Tata Group, an Indian global corporation, plans to debut its “super app” TataNeu on April 7, according to their Google Play Store page. It was supposedly solely available to Tata Group personnel at the time.

The long-awaited app aims to bring together Tata’s digital businesses, such as ordering groceries from BigBasket (which Tata purchased a majority stake in in 2021), booking flights with Air India, reserving accommodations at Taj Hotels, and paying utility bills with Tata Pay. Tata also intends to reward users who use TataNeu with “NeuCoins,” which are equal to one Indian rupee (approximately PHP 0.68).

TataNeu is being viewed as a potential competitor to other digital service platforms in the country, such as Mumbai-based Jio Platforms and American multinational corporation Amazon, as a result of this growth.

India’s e-commerce business is anticipated to increase from USD 84 billion in 2021 to USD 99 billion in 2024, according to Statista. With over USD 561 million in online sales as of 2017, Amazon India dominates the country, followed by Flipkart, Myntra, and BigBasket.
