Meta is releasing an update to Messenger that focuses on end-to-end encrypted talks. End-to-end Encrypted Group Chats and Calls in Messenger are now accessible to all users. Users can now communicate with friends and family in a private and safe manner.

Notifications for screenshots are another new feature. Users will now be able to see if the person with whom they are conversing takes a screenshot of a vanishing message.

“When it comes to interacting with the people who are most important to you, we understand the value of safety and privacy. End-to-end encryption shields you and your data from hackers, criminals, and other intruders. “We hope these improvements improve your private messaging experience as we work to improve your encrypted interactions with friends and family,” Meta states.

GIFs and Stickers, as well as reactions, are now available in encrypted chats. End-to-end encrypted chats now allow users to respond to particular messages in the same way that conventional Messenger chat does. Verified badges are now available in encrypted chats, allowing users to recognize genuine accounts. Finally, users can keep and edit photographs and videos in encrypted chats.
