Hyper Front, a Valorant Look-alike mobile shooter from NetEase, has been launched

Valorant, Riot Games’ popular tactical shooter for PC, has been a huge success since its release, and the mania isn’t going away anytime soon.

Riding the mobile wave, Riot Games is rumored to be working on a smartphone version of Valorant, which will be released later this year.

While that project is still in the works, NetEase, a Chinese game company, has recently released its own mobile tactical shooter called Hyper Front. At first sight, the game appears to be very similar to Valorant.

Yesterday, pre-registration for the 5v5 mobile tactical shooter was unveiled. NetEase also released a trailer displaying the characters and skills of Hyper Front.

On the surface, the game’s protagonists appear to have powers comparable to those of the agents in Valorant.

The characters are also similar to Valorant’s roster, albeit there are significant variances. At first glance, Valorant gamers may believe that the landscapes and gameplay in Hyper Front are identical to those in the PC game. However, that is about where the similarities end.

The game is unique in terms of gameplay. Instead of holding angles like Valorant, the game features a run-and-gun gameplay style akin to Call of Duty, but with skills.

Riot Games has not stated Hyper Front as of the time of writing, but it does raise whether they are considering legal action.

Riot Games previously sued Moonton’s parent firm Tencent for copyright infringement, claiming that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a knockoff of League of Legends.
