Google introduces beta of Android games on Windows PCs

Google Play Games is now available in beta for Windows PCs. This enables people to play Android games on their desktops natively.

Google Play Games for Windows is currently being beta-tested in Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan. Users only need to join up for the beta and install Google’s software on their Windows PCs.

“Players now effortlessly explore, download, and play their favorite mobile games on their PCs,” adds Arjun Dayal, Google Play Games’ group product manager. “Switch between devices without losing your progress or achievements; it’s all done through your Google Play Games profile!”

This news follows Microsoft’s announcement that Android apps will run natively on Windows 11 PCs. In addition, Microsoft has developed a Windows Subsystem for Android that allows the operating system to execute Android apps.

This feature will allow users to share their progress across many platforms, such as tablets, smartphones, or computers.
