Because each episode contained so much action and tension, the drama’s appeal grew over time. Fans of “Happiness” began thinking on whether the drama will return for a second season.

However, a tvN insider confirmed that this is not the case. tvN confirmed in a statement to a news site that they had never explored the prospect of a second season for the drama, noting,

NOTE: SPOILER

The fact that Jung Yi Hyun became infected led many to believe that a second season was on the way. Fans contended that there is still so much left to be addressed by the drama’s authors that it only made sense to believe the drama was planning a second season. Some fans also adore the chemistry between Park Hyung Sik and Han Hyo Joo, but believe they were limited in their ability to develop it due to the drama’s concept.
