Blacklist International wins MLBB M3 World Championship 2021

Today is Blacklist International’s redemption day. Today, the Filipino squad defeated Onic PH 4-0 to win the M3 World Champions in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).

Onic appeared to have an advantage going into the all-Filipino grand finals because the squad hadn’t lost a single game in the semifinals. However, they were unable to match that feat against Blacklist. Blacklist dominated and won back-to-back games to win the series 4-0, just like they did in the MPL Philippines finals earlier this year.

Blacklist International had a fantastic year, winning both seasons of the MPL Philippines, but they were unable to maintain their supremacy on the international stage. Last month, they finished second in both the SEA Cup (MSC) and the MPL Invitational. They were one of the favorites to win the M3 when it started, and they did exactly that.

However, their journey on the M3 was not without difficulty. They moved to the upper bracket of the playoffs after finishing 3-0 in their group stage against North American underdogs BTK. While many supporters expected Blacklist to win easily, they were defeated 3-2 in a tough series. Despite being relegated to the lower bracket, they did not falter, defeating Keyd Stars, RRQ, and EVOS SG to set up a lower bracket finals rematch with BTK.

This time, Blacklist won 3-1 to demonstrate why they are a force to be reckoned with.

Aside from the medals, the Filipino team will take home $300,000 of the $800,000 prize fund. Onic PH, on the other hand, will receive $120,000 in compensation.
