Globe supports the three-day National Vaccination Drive by raising awareness about the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine and preventing the spread of fake news.

From November 29 to December 1, the government will run #BayanihanBakunahan, a vaccination campaign that will inoculate 15 million Filipinos in 16 regions outside of Metro Manila, bringing the country closer to a 50% vaccination rate. Currently, only 31% of the target population has been vaccinated, far short of the year’s initial goal of 70%. COVID-19 vaccine apprehension is triggered, according to the Department of Health, by fake news claims about the vaccine’s severe side effects and even possible microchip implantation.
The company is ramping up content and digital engagements to promote COVID-19 vaccination, according to Globe. Last November 24, the Panatang Pangkaligtasan video was released, followed by the #BakunaNow TikTok hashtag challenge from November 27 to November 29. The hashtag challenge is open to the public here. Panatang Pangkaligtasan is a modern-day oath that honors the bayanihan spirit, and Globe uses it to encourage people to get vaccinated and to verify vaccine-related news.
The video will be followed by a TikTok dubbing challenge, in which netizens will be asked to dub the Panata. It aims to help mobilize a force of Filipinos who will share vaccine-positive content in order to combat the spread of false information about vaccination. They promote responsible digital citizenship, according to Globe, by encouraging discernment and critical analysis of online content.
