macOS Monterey is now available for download

Apple has made the latest version of macOS, macOS 12 Monterey, available as a free software update for eligible Mac models.

According to Apple, macOS Monterey introduces new capabilities that enable people to connect in new ways, accomplish more, and collaborate effortlessly across their Apple devices. The most recent macOS Monterey was released in June 2021.

FaceTime contains new audio and video features that make calls feel more real and lifelike, and new Continuity technologies, such as AirPlay to Mac, let Apple devices operate even better together. Live Text and Visual Lookup add additional intelligence capabilities to uncover relevant information, Tab Groups provide sophisticated tab management, and Shortcuts bring the convenience of automation to the Mac.

Furthermore, SharePlay, which will be available soon, will allow Mac users to share experiences via FaceTime, and Universal Control will make it simple for users to operate seamlessly between their Mac and iPad.

macOS Monterey is now available as a free software upgrade for Macs that use Apple silicon as well as Intel-based Macs.

Go to System Preferences > Software Update to install Monterey. Then you can upgrade by clicking the button.
