Globe expands its VoWiFi and VoLTE to more customers

Globe has announced that it will expand its Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice Over WiFi (VoWiFi) capabilities to more users.

Globe says the company will continue to roll out its VoLTE and VoWiFi technologies to more contracted customers to ensure they can make calls and calls without interruption in emergencies. If a postpaid customer has a wrong internal signal, they can improve their voice calls by enabling VoWiFi on their mobile phone. VoWiFi, also known as WiFi calling, increases network coverage in areas with poor signal quality to make calls over WiFi instead of the 3G / LTE network.

Activation and use of the VoWiFi and VoLTE functions are free. To enable it, go to your phone’s “Connection Settings,” tap “WiFi Calling,” then help “WiFi” as your preferred call setting. VoLTE can also be found in the “Connection Settings”; meanwhile, it can be activated through the “Voice and data” options.

Globe mentioned that this service was already available in key areas in Luzon last December and has now expanded to more extensive locations across the country.
