The 200MP ISOCELL HPI and 50MP ISOCELL GN5 mobile image sensors from Samsung have been introduced.

The 200MP ISOCELL HPI is the industry’s first to support a 200MP resolution, with ultra-fine 0.64-micrometer pixels. It has a maximum video resolution of 8K at 30 frames per second and records photos in excellent detail, keeping sharpness even when cropped or downsized. The image sensor also has Samsung’s ChameleonCell technology and pixel-binning technology, which shifts between 22, 44, and full pixel resolution depending on the ambient conditions for improved low-light shooting.

The 50MP ISOCELL GN5, on the other hand, is the industry’s first 1.0-micrometer image sensor to incorporate Dual Pixel Pro, an all-directional autofocusing technology. With one million phase-detecting multi-directional photodiodes (two photobodies positioned vertically and horizontally within each 1.0?m pixel of the sensor), the new technology claims to be able to “substantially improve autofocusing capabilities.” Furthermore, it blends the Dual Pixel Pro with Samsung’s unique Front Deep Trench Isolation (FDTI), resulting in brighter images in low-light environments.
