As of Tuesday, the third telco DITO Telecommunity had 3 million subscribers, according to the company.
“DITO Telecommunity, the country’s newest telco player, announced today that it has successfully reached the 3 million subscriber mark this morning,” said the telco, which Dennis Uy of China Telecom leads.
Apart from reaching the 3 million mark, DITO announced that as of Sept. 17, it had expanded to 29 new areas.
These include the following areas:
- Orani, Bataan
- Pulilan, Bulacan
- San Rafael, Bulacan
- Norzagaray, Bulacan
- Dumaguete, Negros Occidental
- Valencia (LUZZURIAGA), Negros Occidental
- Jaen, Nueva Ecija
- Quezon, Nueva Ecija
- Lubao Pampanga
- Lupao, Nueva Ecija
- Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya
- Alaminos, Pangasinan
- Bani, Pangasinan
- Bolinao, Pangasinan
- Bugallon, Pangasinan
- Mangaldan, Pangasinan
- Urbiztondo, Pangasinan
- Urdaneta, Pangasinan
- Laoac, Pangasinan
- Dasol, Pangasinan
- Aguilar, Pangasinan
- Bautista, Pangasinan

DITO previously announced that it had passed its second-year audit in July, with 52.75 percent of the national population covered and minimum average broadband speeds of 89.13 Mbps for 4G and 853.85 Mbps for 5G.
DITO plans to offer 55 Mbps speeds and cover at least 51.01 percent of the population in its second year.
