More than a year into the pandemic, Globe continues committed to going above and above to help its stakeholders and meet their most pressing requirements. In the first six months of the year, the company’s COVID-19 contributions totaled P154 million, which was dispersed among various stakeholders. Customers, employees, suppliers, and other beneficiaries from diverse communities, as well as the health and education sectors, are among them.

“The Globe continues to assist our kababayans at one of the most difficult periods in our country’s history. More than just assuring first-world connectivity and services, we focused aid to vital sectors like health and education, which have been struck the hardest by the pandemic. We are aware that many consumers are still feeling challenged as a result of the pandemic’s impact. That is why we are increasing our support for essential services in places that need it the most,” stated Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP for Corporate Communications.
The Globe Labs COVID-19 testing center for use by employees, their dependents, and employees of suppliers and managed services partners is one of the projects supported by the P154 million.
“Since the beginning of the epidemic, we have prioritized the safety and well-being of Globe workers, their dependents, and our business partners. We are able to provide first-world connections, products, and services necessary for individuals and businesses to prosper in the new digital economy through Globe field technicians, retail workers, and even those working from home. Aside from that, we strongly support critical sectors and communities by providing financial, technical, and in-kind help so that they can recover faster from the pandemic and contribute to the country’s overall economic recovery,” said Rizza Maniego-Eala, Globe’s Chief Finance Officer.
Since the beginning of the epidemic in 2020, Globe has raised and provided P1.9 billion for its stakeholders to assist the government in its fight against the health disaster. The total incorporates cumulative employee and vendor-partner support, product and service packages for community activities, monetary donations, and fundraising efforts via multiple channels, including its digital platforms.
Globe also did not forget about its community partners, donating P14.7 million. It is made up of a P9 million company investment in community projects and a P5.7 million contribution drive organized by employees and customers. Total customer donations through Globe Rewards totaled P2.8 million, with P1.1 million coming from the #OneGlobeVsCovid internal fundraising campaign and P1.8 million coming from the recently concluded #BrigadangAyala initiative for the Philippine General Hospital, Tondo Medical Center, and National Children’s Hospital.
Globe also provided assistance to numerous government bodies through relevant hotlines and help websites. Support initiatives for the education sector include free access to the Globe eLibrary, professional development training for teachers through the Global Filipino Teachers program, and mental wellness webinars through the Department of Education and Globe’s TAYO Naman! (Tulong, Alaga, Yakap, at Oras para sa mga Tagapagtaguyod ng Edukasyon) program.
Over 4,300 connectivity tools were also distributed to non-governmental groups to assist students and teachers in distance learning. Simultaneously, 268 Community Pantries were supplied with shopping deliveries and prepaid packs to help alleviate hunger. Globe also contributed money to the Ingat Angat campaign.
