Netflix plans to extend its video game platform in 2022 and has already hired a former EA and Facebook executive to manage the initiative.

According to Bloomberg, Netflix has hired Mike Verdu as its vice president of game development. Verdu was previously a vice president at Facebook, where he was responsible for collaborating with developers to bring games to the Oculus platform. The corporation is also said to be expanding its gaming team in the coming months, with roles in-game creation already being advertised. The games will debut on Netflix as a new programming genre, with no plans to charge extra for the material at this time.
