The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 7 playoffs saw Execration produce possibly the most remarkable comeback in league history, as they reverse swept defending champions Bren Esports, 3-2, to advance to the lower bracket finals across Aura PH on Saturday.

Bren dominated Game 1 with a 22-9 kill tally, thanks to a flawless performance from Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s Ling, who finished with a 6-0-12 KDA. Khufra’s Allan “Lusty” Castromayor had a 4-2-15 KDA and was vital in their early game exploits.
In Game 2, Bren continued to dominate the early game while gaining all of the turtle buffs. Still, an 8th-minute skirmish in which Renzio took out KarlTzy (Claude) and Cartilo “Ribo” Jagdon (Khaleed) helped Execration catch up on the gold total after falling behind by as much as 4k in the early game.
However, Bren’s 13th minute Luminous Lord take, in which Lusty sacrificed himself for the goal, resulted in the 15th-minute conquest of all Execration inhibitor turrets.
From then on, Execretion was on the defensive, and a couple of misplays in the lord area in the 25th minute allowed Bren to win Game 2 3-0.
Bren appeared to be on the verge of sweeping Execration as they grabbed control of the early and midgame. A Luminous Lord takeover in the 12th minute allowed Bren to clear all Execration turrets from the map while gaining a 15k gold advantage.
Execration, on the other hand, kept the match going past the 40-minute mark thanks to calculated defensive stands, eventually leading to a fantastic Tyrant’s revenge + flicker combo by Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog’s Khufra, followed by a Tyrant’s Rage and a Feathered Airstrike by Caidic “E2MAX” James (Pharsa) that took down three Bren members in a flash as Ex
In Game 4, Execration looked like a team on a mission, forcing a 3-0 takedown, including KarlTzy (Yi Shun Shin) in the fifth-minute turtle clash, to take control of the game.
With a 3-2-9 KDA, Ch4knu (Jawhead) set the tone for Game 4’s overwhelming triumph, circling accurate initiations and picks-offs with his Ejector combinations. Kelra (Harith) lorded over the gold lane once more as he demolished Ribo his route to a flawless 7-0-7 KDA.
Execration scored a 3-0 wipe in Game 5 thanks to a great disruption supplied by Renz “Renzio” Cadua (Gloo) and a timely Blazing Duet by Kiel “Keilvj” Hernandez in an 11th-minute skirmish in the middle lane, leading to a Luminous Lord take to down all Bren inhibitor turrets.
In the 16th minute, Execration made the correct initiation to weaken Bren’s last stand and upset the reigning global champions.
