On April 21, Globe will officially launch its internal mobile number portability (MNP) capability, in line with the company’s mission to enhance the overall customer experience. This includes all consumer movements from Postpaid to Prepaid, Prepaid to Postpaid, and Prepaid to Prepaid across the Globe and TM brands.

When changing subscription types, the MNP feature allows the consumer to keep their same mobile number. Many that have wanted to move from Prepaid to Postpaid (or vice versa) will now be able to do so while retaining their original mobile number.
Customers who are not subject to a subscription lock-in period, do not have any contractual commitments and do not owe any balances may use the service. Mobile customers may apply for porting by visiting their nearest Globe store or logging into their GlobeOne account. Globe myBusiness customers will use the GlobeOne app to see if their phone number is eligible for MNP. If they qualify, they can contact their account manager or myBusiness chat help. Clients of Globe Business should get in touch with their dedicated account managers.
“Enabling our customers with the freedom to move across subscription types while allowing them to retain their original mobile number creates a new level of experience,” said Issa Guevarra-Cabreira, Globe Chief Commercial Officer.
Under Republic Act 11202, or the Mobile Number Portability Act, Globe is advancing this initiative to enable its customers to retain their mobile numbers even if they move from Globe to TM or vice versa, regardless of their current subscriptions.
To enable other network providers to do the same, the MNP’s full implementation date, which was originally scheduled for January 2021, has been pushed back to September 30, 2021, due to technological delays in testing and governance caused by the pandemic.
The organization advocates for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG), specifically UN SDG No. 9, which acknowledges infrastructure and innovation as critical drivers of economic growth and development. Globe has pledged to uphold the ten United Nations Global Compact principles and ten United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
