Twitter Spaces can now access to anyone with more than 600 followers

In a blog post on Monday, Twitter announced that its Spaces feature would be available to all users with at least 600 followers. Spaces is a voice-only audio chat feature that allows a host to broadcast voice chats with other Twitter users. Audience members can either listen or participate in the discussion.

New features are coming to Twitter Spaces, according to the company. The most notable of these is “Ticketed Spaces,” which allows Space hosts to monetize their Spaces by charging a fee. In the “coming months,” a select group of users will be able to test Ticketed Spaces. You’ll eventually be able to set reminders for future Spaces and schedule time slots for them. Spaces will soon have co-hosted Spaces, improved live captioning, and easier access to Spaces via a profile icon on a Twitter feed.

Clubhouse, a startup app based on the same premise of hosting public voice chats with other users and allowing audiences to listen in life, inspired the Spaces feature. As many people were quarantining and spending time at home during the pandemic, Clubhouse grew in popularity. What Twitter has to say about Spaces is as follows:

“You’ve always followed people for their Tweet; now Spaces lets you hear their voices and talk about what’s happening now and what’s most important to you – live. From Tweeting to talking, reading to listening, Spaces encourages and unlocks real, open conversations on Twitter with the authenticity and nuance, depth and power only the human voice can bring.”

Among Twitter Fleets, Ongoing Spaces appear at the top of your feed in a purple bubble. To make a Space, press and hold the Tweet button while tapping the Spaces icon. The Spaces feature may not be available to you yet if you don’t see the icon.
