Telegram Premium will launch officially by the end of June

There have been reports that Telegram is planning to launch a premium, paid subscription option for its customers. Telegram’s CEO, Pavel Durov, has now stated that it will happen this month.

Durov announced on his own Telegram channel that “Telegram Premium” will be released soon, almost a decade after it was first released. The premium layer, he said, will be for telegram lovers who want to “push the present restrictions even farther” and “go beyond what is already insane” without jeopardizing the free service for everyone else.

Although the features of Telegram Premium have not been officially announced, Durov indicated that it will allow premium users to gain access to additional features, speed, and resources, as well as be among the first to receive new additions.

Those who do not wish to pay for Telegram Premium will still be able to utilize all of Telegram’s existing services for free, according to Durov. He went on to say that more free capabilities will be arriving soon, and that some Telegram Premium services, such as reading extra-large documents, would be made available to everyone.

He concluded by adding that Telegram’s tests with privacy-focused ads have been more successful than expected, and that the company’s users would always come first, and that users, not marketers, should be the source of funding.

There has been no official statement about the pricing and tier plan. But are you interested in learning more about Telegram Premium? Let us know in the comments if you’d be willing to pay for such a service!
