TECNO will release three mobile camera technologies in 2022

In a webinar titled “Global Mobile Camera Trends 2022: Innovation Talk,” TECNO discussed their latest technology and accomplishments. The event was arranged in collaboration with Counterpoint, and the Webinar presenters discussed advancements in mobile imaging technology.

TECNO emphasized its improvements in dark complexion photography and recent breakthroughs in light sensitivity, picture and video stabilization, zoom, and high-resolution – all powered by technologies such as RGBW and G+P, Sensor Shift, and Telescopic Lens.

The business anticipates that by the first quarter of 2022, it will have products on the market that will allow users to take studio-quality images and movies without the need for professional expertise.

TECNO announced many significant advances in mobile camera technology:

  • Significant progress in light sensitivity – A self-developed RGBW sub-pixel rendering technology will drive cameras in future TECNO phones in 2022, which boosts the light captured by the CMOS sensor by 60%. Light intake will be increased by 30% thanks to G+P (glass + plastic) lens technology, for a total increase of 200 percent and a breakthrough low-light image experience for consumers.
  • First Android phone to integrate Sensor Shift – In addition, the business intends to introduce Sensor Shift technology in 2022, making it the first mobile phone brand in the Android system to do so. Sensor Shift is an image stabilization method that compensates for vibrations by using sensor movements rather than lens movements. With additional algorithm optimization, the control precision of TECNO’s Sensor Shift will reach 350% of its current level in the future. Customers will then be able to take studio-quality images with more stability.
  • Concept Phone with a telescopic lens in Q1 2022 – The telescopic lens features a wide aperture and continuous lossless zoom. Consumers will benefit from improved profile and telephotograph quality, as well as multi-purpose capabilities, according to TECNO. Furthermore, a compressed rear focal length (BFL) design with motorized stretchable lenses would drastically reduce the phone’s thickness, balancing consumer needs for a simple aesthetic and high performance. The TECNO concept phone with telescopic lens will be available in Q1 2022.

“One of the cornerstones underpinning TECNO’s success in global emerging markets is cutting-edge cameras.” “With the brand spirit ‘Stop at Nothing,’ our team at TECNO Image Technology is constantly developing to create advances in mobile imaging technologies,” stated Li Jiangtao, Senior Director of TECNO Imaging Product and Head of TAIVOS Lab. “In the future, TECNO will continue to strive for perfection in AI-enhanced algorithms, software, and hardware specs to achieve cutting-edge image performance.”
