It is well known that Redmi is preparing to launch its first smartphone (Redmi K40 Gaming Edition), which is specifically designed for gaming. As the launch date (April 27) approaches, officials are revealing more information. Today, officials announced another big feature of the handset.
Redmi has officially announced that the all-new Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will be equipped with MediaTek’s newest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 1200. The chipset is built on the industry’s leading 6nm chip design and outperforms the predecessor model by 25%.
It has one Ultra Cortex-A78 core (clocked at 3GHz), three Super Cortex-A78 cores (clocked at 2.6GHz), and four Efficiency Cortex-A55 cores (clocked at 2GHz). This cutting-edge architecture is powered by potent quad-channel memory and dual-channel UFS 3.1 storage.
Redmi has also announced the phone’s AnTuTu Benchmark (version 9) ratings. It has 724,495 points, which ensures the gaming experience of the Redmi K40 new version.
Before the Redmi K40 series launch, it was reported that Redmi would also launch a version with Dimensity 1200, but it is now clear that this will be the Redmi K40 series gaming edition.
We previously announced that the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition would feature Samsung’s E4 AMOLED Punch-Hole display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The monitor would have a narrow aperture, similar to the regular Redmi K40, and the side bezels and bottom chins would be shallow as well.
The phone will also be powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 67W quick charging (as revealed in the 3C Certification). The phone will also have a fingerprint scanner on edge.
The upcoming Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will be revealed in an online event on April 27 at 19:30 (Chinese Time).
