PUBG has been renamed PUBG: Battlegrounds

KRAFTON, the developer of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, has altered its title to PUBG: Battlegrounds, making it PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Battlegrounds.

The developer of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds altered the game’s name on Steam in July. According to PCGamer, they contacted the Krafton PR staff, who confirmed the new moniker but declined to explain how it came to be.

“Krafton is actively developing the PUBG brand through a number of additional experiences situated in its universe,” according to a public relations representative. “Changing the name of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to PUBG: Battlegrounds is the first step toward accomplishing this ambition. As you will see in our future game, PUBG: New State, further titles in the franchise will use the PUBG name.”

The conclusion is that the company is creating a universe that will accept other PUBG titles as a step toward their “goal.” Other predictions claim that they are moving away from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds since it includes the “PlayerUnknown’s” name, which implies that he is the original game’s creator. With the new PUBG universe, it would be appropriate to give credit to the entire development team.

The official name has been changed to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Battlegrounds, which is now obsolete.
