Philippines is ranked #2 on TikTok’s list of countries creating K-Pop content

TikTok has disclosed its key insights and trends around K-pop on TikTok, revealing that the Philippines is the platform’s second-largest producer of K-pop content.

The report examined the platform’s long-term impact on K-pop consumption and fandom culture captured, and was developed in partnership with Kpop Radar, a K-Pop fandom data service managed by music start-up Space Oddity.

According to the report, Tiktok’s K-pop content has nearly quadrupled in the last year, from 33.5 million in 2019 to over 97 million in September 2021. 92.8 percent of these videos were created outside of Korea, with Indonesia taking the lead as the most prolific creator (16.4 percent ). The Philippines (13.5%) and the United States (13.5%) came in second and third, respectively (8.7 percent ).

Not only did TikTok re-connect fans with their favorite K-pop music, but it also introduced them to new songs and tracks from up-and-coming Korean artists, according to TikTok. Take a look at the following numbers:
