The OPPO Reno5 series has been available in China for more than four months. Since March, rumors of a successor, the Reno6 series, have circulated, and now there’s a chance the new phones will be unveiled this month.
OPPO will hold a mid-year gala on May 22, according to a Chinese report. Many celebrities are expected to attend, and the event may also serve as the launch date for the Reno6 series.
It turns out that OPPO has previously used this mid-year event to reveal some of its phones. The OPPO R15 was unveiled at the 2018 edition gala, while the first-generation Reno series debuted at the 2019 edition gala. As a result, it’s not unreasonable to expect the Reno6 to be announced at this year’s event.
The Reno6 with a Dimensity 1200 chipset and a 90Hz display, the Reno6 Pro with a Snapdragon 870 processor and a 90Hz display, and the Reno6 Pro+ with a Snapdragon 888 processor and a 120Hz refresh rate are all expected to be released. All three phones have a 4500mAh battery capacity and 65W fast wired charging, and 30W wireless fast charging support.
Given that the Reno5 series has only recently entered a few markets outside of China, the Reno6 series will most likely arrive much later.
