Microsoft and FedEx have teamed up to create a new cross-platform e-commerce logistics service

FedEx and Microsoft have announced their latest partnership to improve commerce, supply chains, and logistics. The firms will combine FedEx network intelligence with Microsoft Dynamics 365 capabilities to launch a cross-platform “logistics as a service” for retailers, merchants, and brands.

The organizations have a goal for reinventing business commerce experiences so that they can provide their customers with better integrated shopping experiences and faster, more efficient delivery. FedEx and Microsoft collaborate to extract fresh insights from the 17 million shipments that move through the FedEx network each day, with the goal of assisting brands in providing better customer experiences.

Furthermore, the companies announced plans to launch a one-of-a-kind data integration that will combine FedEx data insights with Dynamics 365 Intelligent Order Management to provide brands with new information and capabilities to better fulfill, ship, and service customer orders while easily integrating with their existing e-commerce platforms.

“Nearly two years ago, we embarked on a journey with Microsoft to reinvent the commerce environment,” said FedEx Corp. president and COO Raj Subramaniam. “We’ve made considerable progress in that time, using Microsoft Azure technology with our FedEx Surround solution, which provides vital support in enabling improved monitoring of time-sensitive priority shipments.” This next chapter of our relationship will continue to combine the FedEx network’s unparalleled supply chain analytics with the Microsoft Cloud to improve e-commerce experiences for brands, merchants, and consumers.”

“Now, more than ever, it’s evident how vital a resilient supply chain is for any organization’s success in the contemporary economy,” said Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft. “We’re bringing FedEx network data and insights together with the Microsoft Cloud, beginning with Dynamics 365, to help organizations accelerate their digital transformation across their business operations so they can offer customers more integrated ways to shop and faster, more efficient deliveries.”

According to Microsoft, customers in the United States will be able to use seamless FedEx data integration with Dynamics 365 Intelligent Order Management in the second half of 2022.
