Intel Arc Graphics will be launched in Q1 2022 for desktops and notebooks

The Intel Arc, Intel’s newest brand for graphics products, was recently unveiled.

The Arc brand will span hardware, software, and services, according to Intel. The first codenamed Alchemist will span several hardware generations and is based on the Xe HPG microarchitecture. According to Intel, future generations of the Arc brand will be known as Battlemage, Celestial, and Druid.

Furthermore, the following Intel Arc graphics solutions will be built on the Xe HPG microarchitecture, a combination of Intel’s Xe LP, HP, and HPC microarchitectures that will deliver scalability and compute efficiency while also incorporating advanced graphics features. Alchemist, the first generation of Intel Arc products, will have hardware-based ray tracing and AI-driven supersampling and complete compatibility for DirectX 12 Ultimate.

Below is a video of Intel Arc’s graphics gameplay and demo.

“Today is a watershed moment in our graphic design journey, which began only a few years ago. Intel’s strong and ongoing commitment to gamers and creators worldwide is shown in the launch of the Intel Arc brand and the announcement of future product generations. When these solutions are released early next year, we have teams working tirelessly to ensure we deliver first-class and seamless experiences,” said Roger Chandler, Intel Vice President and General Manager of Client Graphics Products and Solutions.

In the first quarter of 2022, Intel Arc graphics devices based on gaming-first Codename Alchemist SoCs will be available in desktops and notebooks from global partners.
