GCash announces more cash in options to serve Filipinos during the Pandemic

During this pandemic, digital transactions have been critical for every Filipino, whether for remittance, bill payment, online deliveries, groceries, medicine, shelter, allowance, and the like. GCash, the country’s leading mobile wallet, remains committed to its mission of providing financial access to all, especially during this health crisis. It aims to provide services to Filipinos daily by leveraging its extensive digital ecosystem, which is present throughout the world.

GCash has formed key partnerships around the country and around the world to facilitate these various transactions, allowing users to Cash Into their GCash wallets.

Cashing out is simple and free in the GCash app with a connected BPI or UnionBank account. In addition, clients of other banks can cash out easily from their bank apps using the InstaPay and PESONet fund transfer networks.

GCash is now expanding its over-the-counter network for its unbanked users. GCash has grown from 17,000 Cash Indoors in 2019 to more than 40,000 doors today. Among the major partners are Alfamart, Ministop, Puremart, Puregold, Robinsons Department Store, SM Store, Waltermart, and Southstar Drug.

The mobile wallet and its significance have been highlighted during the country’s recent lockdowns. From basic financial services like Gcash-to-Gcash and inter-bank transfers, bill payments, receiving remittances, and opening savings accounts to more sophisticated services like deposits, insurance, and credit, GCash has enabled these services to assist Filipinos, both banked and unbanked, in coping with these trying times. In addition, the app can also be used to shop online, pay for store purchases with QR codes, and purchase items from GLife partners, among other things!
