ASUS ZenFone 8 to be released on May 12th

ASUS has publicly announced that the ZenFone 8 will be unveiled on May 12. ASUS’s website also has a landing page with a countdown to the launch date. Although the microsite suggests a single model, reports indicate that the Taiwanese manufacturer may unveil up to three ZenFone 8 series smartphones.

According to ASUS, the ZenFone 8 will be “big on results” but “small in size.” According to previous news, one of the ZenFone 8 series will be a compact-sized flagship called the ZenFone 8 Mini.

According to recent news, the ZenFone 8 Mini has been codenamed Sake and has the model number SUS ZS590KS / ASUS I006D. The ZenFone 8 Mini is anticipated to have a 5.92-inch OLED screen with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Snapdragon 888 chipset will power it.

According to the phone’s Geekbench page, it may have up to 16 GB of RAM. There is no information on the device’s battery capacity. Its TÜV SÜD qualification, on the other hand, revealed that it could support 30W rapid charging. The Sony IMX686 64-megapixel camera and the latest Sony IMX663 camera may be included in the ZenFone 8 Mini. A Cirrus CS35L45 amplifier is also expected to be included in the device.

The second model in the lineup is codenamed Picasso and has the model number ASUS ZS672KS / ASUS I004D. This model is supposed to have a 6.67-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz, a Snapdragon 888, 16 GB of RAM, a triple camera system with 64-megapixel (Sony IMX686) + 12.2-megapixel (Sony IMX363) + 8-megapixel telephoto (OmniVision) and a 24-megapixel (OV24B1Q) selfie camera, and a Pixel i6 visual processor.

The third model could be codenamed VODKA and has the model number ASUS Z5675KW / ASUS I007D. It is expected to have a 6.7-inch display and a Snapdragon 888 processor. Hopefully, ASUS and the rumor mill will reveal more information about the ZenFone 8 series before the official unveiling.
